Wrigleyville and Rooftops
What exactly is Wrigleyville? It is a neighborhood or community that surrounds Wrigley Field. It is where people and fans go. It's where people live. Chicago is known for its neighborhoods and Wrigley Field is right smack in the middle of a neighborhood.
Fans on Rooftop
There are bars and restaurants and shops across the streets that are based on the Chicago Cubs theme. Memorabilia all over the place. The Wrigley Field Rooftops are on Waveland and Sheffield. But it is more. It is bordered by Halsted St. on the east, Ashland Ave. on the west, Roscoe St. on the south and Byron St. on the north. It includes restaurants, bars, night clubs, shops, theater, galleries, hotels and more. Being there takes the Cubs Fan to another level and different culture that is not just sports. It is a place that people and fans go instead of Wrigley Field. They take in the neighborhood feel that represents the Chicago Cubs and having a baseball stadium right there in the neighborhood.
Some enjoy this instead of or in addition to attending the game. Me personally, enjoyed going to the game. Didn't participate in the bars and restaurants before or after the game. Never did make it to one of the rooftops. But that was just me. Some want more, some choose to watch the game at a different venue. To each their own. Some find it when they are not attending the game and this is their best alternative. And some just can't get enough of the Cubs. So I guess that is where Wrigleyville came from. That is where the rooftops came from.
